Surakkai and Murungakkai Pal Curry


This is more or less equal to stew with different taste. Will be a good combo for rice, chappathi.
Ingredients

Surakkai (bottle gourd) - 1 cup
Murungakkai ( drumstick) - 1/2 cup
Onion - 1
Red Chilies - 2
Green Chillies - 2
Coconut Milk - 2 cups ( thick + thin)
Salt and oil as required
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dhal - 1 tsp

Method

For surakkai and murungakai coconut milk curry....Half cook Murungakkai and keep aside. Extract coconut milk and keep aside...in pan add oil, season with mustard seeds and urad dhal, red chillies, then add curry leaves green chilliesand onion, sauté well... Then add drumstick and bottle gourd... Sauté well and then add salt, keep in sim flame for 5 minutes, then add little thin coconut milk and allow veg to cook.... When veg cooked, add coconut milk and keep in sim flame for two minutes and switch of the flame. Can add coconut paste instead of coconut milk to have thick gravy and can substitute coconut milk with milk to have different flavour.
