Ingredients
Thoor dhal - Half cup
Shallot onion - 10 chopped nicely
Tomato - 2
Ginger garlic paste - 1/4 tsp
Green chillies - 3 chopped nicely
Red chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
Methi leaves - few
Ghee - as needed
Jeera, Cummin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Salt as needed
Method
Soak thoor dhal in water for half an hour, then pressure cooker it adding ghee, turmeric powder,asfetodia powder. After one whistle keep it in simmer for 5 min and then switch off the flame.
In a Kadai, add required ghee, add Cummin seeds, when it splutters, add onion, green chillies, ginger garlic paste, sauté it well till onion turns pink. Then add tomato and sauté it well, till it becomes soft. Then add little water and allow it to boil for few minutes, then add the cooked dhall , salt and mix everything well. Let it boil for two more minutes. Now add methi leaves ( either fresh or dried one, when using fresh, soak it in hot water for few minutes and then use). Allow it to cook in simmer for five more minutes.
Again heat ghee in a Kadai, add Cummin seeds, Switch of the flame and immediately add red chilli powder and then pour it in the dhall.
Tasty Rajasthani dhall ready to be served with hot rice.
Actuall in hotel they used mixture of all dhals for this recipe, moong dhal, channa dhal and toor dhal. You can try that also according to your taste.
