Akkara vadisal

This one of the famous South Indian sweet. Particularly to prepare prasadam for God, this is very opt. This very richer version of Sweet Pongal. Since we cook in milk instead of water, it tastes so rich. I prepared this today for aadi velli and Varalakshmi Pooja.
Ingredients

Rice - 1 cup
split moong dhal - 3 tbs
Milk - 6 to 8 cups
Jaggery - 1cup
Cashew-nuts - 10
Raisins - 10
Edible camphor - A pinch

Method

Clean rice and split moong dhal in water well, filter and fry in little ghee till they become hot... Don't fry much... Just getting heat enough... 1 cup rice, 3 tbs dhal, 6 to 8 cups milk depending on ur taste...pressure cook for 5 whistle... In mean time put powdered jaggery in hot water , then filter impurities and then again boil jaggery well for 4 to 5 minutes., boiling jaggery before adding to rice, will give rich taste.... After boiling well, add jaggery syrub to the cooked rice, mix well and keep in medium flame for few minutes... Switch off the flame.... Add roasted cashewnuts and raisins.... Can add edible camphor , just a pinch enough.... If you feel mix is bit solid, can even at this time and make it bit semi solid... Tastes so good,... Got appreciation from all today for this recipe.
