Nellikai or Amla chutney

When I went to vegetable shop, I bought some fresh Almas. So tried different varieties using Amla. Chutney is one of the common recipe using Amla. Amla has so many health benefits. It is natural source of Vitamin 'C'. It rejuvenates us. It makes us slim. It strengthens our liver system.  It reduces constipation, etc etc. So friends please try this chutney and be healthy in your life.

    

Ingredients

Amla  - 5 medium size 
Shredded coconut - 1/2 cup
Fenugreek seeds - 1/4 tsp
Grated Jaggery - one pinch
Salt - as needed
Red chillies - 3 nos

For seasoning

Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida - a pinch
curry leaves - few
Oil as needed

Method

Dry roast methi seeds and red chillies. Now grind together, shredded Amla, coconut, roasted fenugreek seeds, red chilies, salt, jaggery, salt by adding little water. Then in a pan add oil, season it with mustard seeds, asafoetida, curry leaves and pour over the chuntey. 


You can have this with idly, rice etc.,
