Today I have lot of green chillies in my stock. On weekend I used to empty the contents in the fridge, since have to fill it up with fresh ones. So prepared pulikachal out the green chillies, It is my mother in law's special dish. Very hot and spicy.
Ingredients
Green chillies - 1/2 cup (chopped into small pieces)
Ginger - 2 inch grated
Tamarind - 1 small lemon size.
Jaggery - a pinch
Hing power - a pinch
Water - 1/2 cup
For seasoning
Oil - 3 tbs
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dhal - 1 tsp
Sesame seed - 1 tsp
Method
Heat oil in a pan. Season it with items mentioned under seasoning. Then add green chillies , fry well for to minutes. Then add ginger, then tamarind paste,jaggery, hing power, salt and water. Allow it to boil well till everything mixes well, chutney thickens and begin to leave oil. You can use it for even one week by keeping in fridge. It goes well with idly, dosa, curd rice etc.
