Potato poppy seeds gravy

Always I have tough time to decide what to prepare as side dish for either fried rice or roti. This is one of the Kuruma variety, but will have different taste than normal kuruma and with poppy seeds, it tastes so rich and good. Kids favourite too.
Ingredients

Potato 1/2 kg
Poppy seeds - 4 tsp
Cinamon Stick - 1 tsp
Bay leaves - little
Cloves - 3
Fennel Seeds - 1 tsp
Coconut - 1/4 cup
Red chilli powder - 2 tsp
Coriander powder - 1 tsp
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Onion - 2
Tomatoes - 2
Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tsp

Method

For gravy, dry fry 3 to 4 tsp of poppy seeds in a pan and soak it in water for 2 hours....grind this along with coconut... Then in a pan add garam masala items, fry well, then add onion, tomatoes, ginger garlic paste, fry well, then add red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder and salt.. When raw smell goes, add coconut poppy seeds paste and sauté well, then add skin peeled, boiled, sliced potatoes, when everything mixes well, switch of the flame, serve with chappathi or any white rice.
