We prepare dhal for rice in different ways. That too this dhal with coconut milk taste good and different. So please try this and give your comments. Those who who avoid onion and garlic on virutham days can try this without that or can try this on normal days.
Ingredients
Thoor dhal - 1 cup
Green chillies - 2
coconut milk - 1 cup
Garlic - 3 pods
Onion - 1
Ghee - 1tsp
Mustard seeds -1 tsp
Urad dhal 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
Red chilies - 2
Curry leaves
Method
Pressure cook thoor dhal along with turmeric, hing, green chillies, one tsp ghee..... Add coconut milk to this..... Then in a pan heat ghee season with mustard seeds, urad dhal, cumin seeds, red chillies, curry leaves, then add nicely chopped onion and fry till it turns pink, then add crushed garlic and sauté till its raw smell goes. Add this to the dhal mix and allow everything to boil for two minutes and switch off the flame, Serve hot.
