Oats idly

Oats is best for those who try to reduce their weight. It is always best to take oats in the morning. But taking oats in form if porridge, we hate bit though it is more healthy than taking in anyother form. So I sued to try different varieties using oats and oats idly is one among them


Ingredients

Oats - 2 cups
Rava ( Sooji) - 1 cup
Curd -  3 cups
Carrot - 1
Onion - 1
Green Chillies - 4
Ginger- one inch  
Eno salt - one pinch ( optional)
Salt as needed

Seasoning

Oil or ghee - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - I tsp
Urad dhal - 1 tsp
Channa dhal -  1 tsp
Curry leaves - few leaves
Hing powder - one pinch

Method

Dry roast oats in a pan and grind it coarsely ( pls don't grind it to fine powder, it will change the texture and taste)...to this add rava, three cups of churned curd...since kids eating, I smashed green chilies and ginger in mixie cup and added, you can finely chop them and them add.... Then in a pan add oil, season with mustard seeds, urad dhal, channa dhal, hing powder, curry leaves, then add onion ( optional), grated carrot, ( other vegetables of your choice, green peas will give good taste) and mix everything well and add to the batter, mix and prepare idly in idly mould. I didn't used eno salt or cooking soda since I thought curd is enough ... You may use it for better results....
