Thoor Dhal Idly

When we are bored up with normal idlies, can try variety of idlies. Since aadi perukku yesterday, ended in having heavy food, that too sweet pongal and vadai which kept everyone's stomach full till night..... So today I want to prepare simple and at the same time want to prepare some items which easily digest or compensate calories we gained yesterday..... So ended in preparing this idly and ginger chutney.

Ingredients

Par boiled rice - 2 cups
Thoor dhal - 1 cup
Fenugreek seeds - 3 tsp
Green Chillies - 4
Jeera - 1 tsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - few leaves 
Drumstick leaves - 1/2 cup
Salt and oil as required.

Method

Soak par boiled tiffin rice 2 cup, thoor dhal 1 cup, fenugreek seeds, 3tsp..... Soak everything together for 3 to 6 hours... Then grind coarsely along with green chillies and jeera or hing powder ( if u have plan to add drumstick leaves to this idly, better grind with red chillies)... Add salt at the end and remove the batter and allow to ferment for 6 to 8 hours.... At the time of preparing idly, add the seasoned mustard seeds and curry leaves, can add drumstick leaves at this stage ( I didn't added since today I want to have easily digestible items in menu, moreover keerai is not in my stock too).....now prepare idly in the mould and serve hot.... It is one of the traditional idly... Those who are bored up with regular idles can try this.... Tasty idly.
