Mapillai sodhi

Another famous tamilnadu recipe (which infact will be famous in Kerala too I think, since this is very famous in Tirunelveli, Kanyakumari districts which have close relation with Kerala in all its characteristics).... MAPPILLAI SODHI ( literally if translated to English, it is called son-in-law sodhi)... This dish is a must item when a son in law visit bride home for the first time after marriage, hence this name came..... This is must items in marriage too in those districts...... Such a lovely taste it has..... More or less it is equal to our Kumbakonam kadappa, but bit variations are there, especially vegetables we use differ, coconut milk used in place of coconut paste.....

If you prepare this in morning itself... Can have this as side dish for idly, dosa, idiyappam and in afternoon can have it with rice and again in night can have it with idly or idiyappam,......

I prepared beetroot fry as side dish... But traditionally they used to prepare ginger chutney as side dish of this...Since this is bit heavy dish, they prepare ginger chuntey as side dish for good digestion....
