Omapodi

Today I prepared omapodi for Diwali . Being holiday I started preparing Diwali snacks. After completing making of ola pakoda, I prepared this omapodi... Very easy to make and we can make it in very short time... Omam is very good for digestion... So can give this to kids, even to very small kids without any hesitation...kids around two years too like this very much, since it is easy to eat for them... Even old people can eat this without giving much work to teeth... So please try this recipe and give your comments.

Ingredients

Besan flour - 2 cups
Rice flour - 1/4 cups
Omam - 2 to 4 tsps ( can increase or decrease according to your taste)
Red chilli powder -   1/2 tsp
Hing powder - 1/2 tsp
Salt, water  and Oil as needed

Method

Add omam in boiling water and switch off the flame and let allow it for one hour... After one hour, extract water from omam and keep ready.

Sieve rice flour and besan flour together...add red chillie powder, salt, Add hing powder to water and filter it and add hing water alone....like that add omam extract, knead everything well... Can add water if needed... Make soft dough...

In a pan add oil, when it is heated, put dough in the murkku presser ( add omam podi acchu with small holes than for murukku)... and press it round in the oil.... When cooked one side, flip it to other side and when both sides are cooked , take it out of the oil and when it is cooled bit, store it in air tight container.

Take care not to over cook the omam podi... You will get crispy omam podi even when it ur white in colour...
