Today's recipe of our home , rava idly, parotta ( ID parotta), bottle gourd gravy.... This gravy is perfect combo for Parottas...
Since we went for shopping yesterday, my kids automatically picked up the ID parotta packets so that I may prepare them today... I mostly avoid noodles and readymade items... But occasionally not able to avoid it due to desire of kids... That ID parottas becoming famous and it is very nice and tasty too, preparation cost is very less when compared to hotel parottas.. So if you arrange a party in home, sure you can buy this and present to the guests, in no minute you can prepare this...
About this surrakkai gravy, I saw this recipein a magazine, since I love any recipe with surakkai, I tried this... But when seeing that photo in that magazine I got doubt, no tomatoes or chilli powder added, curd, fresh creams are added but how they got soo attractive red colour, I thought probably in hotels and for publishing in books, to make it Moore attractive they are adding red colour, otherwise this recipe has not chance to get red colour...
Ingrediants
Bottle gourd - 1
Cashewnuts - 10
Green chilies - 4
Milk - 1/2 cup
Curd - 1 cup
Cabbage - 2 tsp
Cauliflower - 1/4 KG
Green peas - 1 cup
Salt - 2 tsp
Sugar - 1/2 tsp
Corn flour - 1 tsp
Fresh cream - 1/4 cup
Garam Masala - 1/4 tsp
Coriander leaves - for decoration
Method
Just cut one bottle gourd into square shapes and boil it in one and half cup of water, boil till water evaporates and it is cooked well.... Then make a paste out of it by pulsing it in mixe... Make a paste of cashewnuts with little milk, make paste of 4 green chillies , in 1/4 cup of milk, add corn flour, mix well without lumps, keep aside.... Then whisk one cup of curd well and keep ready...
In a pan add oil, then add two tbs of cabbage and sauté well, then add green chilli paste and sauté well, then add garam masala and surakkai paste, sauté well for few minutes, then add curd, sauté well, then add, few cooked cauliflower pieces, one cup of cooked green peas, cashewnut paste, salt, little sugar, mix everything well, then add corn flour mixed milk, fresh cream ( I added little thickened milk instead of fresh cream), sauté for one Minute,.. Decorate with coriander leaves and serve ...
