Rava Idiyappam

Today's breakfast of our home.... Sooji idiyappam with bottle gourd gravy.... I love upma using rava and rice, but my entire family against it .... That too my mother in law planted deep hatred stories of upma in my hubbies mind which am not able to change even after 20 years of marriage, since he teases upma, seeing that kids too begin to follow it.... So for them i used to prepare idiyappam using the same rava...but my family enjoy eating it even without knowing it is sooji... :-)

Sooji idiyappam is one of the easiest way of making idiyappam, when you are bit lazy in morning time, yet you wish to prepare some unique dish to your family, can prepare this quickly and can get appreciation of all....

Ingredients

Rava - 1 cup (sooji)
Water - 2 cups
Salt and ghee - little

Method

Boill two cups of water.... Add salt and ghee to the sooji.... Add hot water nearly one and half cups to the sooji and mix with spatula, water will be absorbed soon, you can add more water if needed.... For me 3/4cup water is enough, then need them together applying little oil or ghee in your hands.

Then put this in idiyappam presser and press into idiyappam in any steamer.

Steam it for five to ten minutes.

Then serve hot with kuruma or any gravy of your choice.
