Pepper idly

Daily when I go to office, I always cross a hotel called Akshayam in Anna nagar,  new hotel, opened one year back, i think, board outside it always attracts me.  Mini breakfast @Rs.40.... I always wonder, whether a good hotel can able to offer at this rate...one day when we go for family outing i suggested this hotel, with half heart everyone accepted.... But menus are of good taste at reasonable rate ( but niw they keep on increasing rates after becoming popular)....mostly  never order traditional food in hotels, since we prepare them more tastier....

But in this hotel our traditional menus are tastier , mudakathaan dosai, keerai vadai etc.... Another menu attracted me is pepper idly.... Tasted so good...From that day i thought of trying it in home... But today only got time to prepare it...... Tastes nice and healthier..... This not the exact recipe of hotel... I myself tried keeping its taste in mind...

Ingredients

Mini idly - Two cups ( can cut regular idlies and use)
Pepper powder - 2 tbs ( dry roast pepper and powder )
Fennel seeds powder - 1/2 tsp
Onion - 2 nicely chopped
Tomatoes - 2 nicely chopped
Garlic pods - 4 nicely chopped ( can avoid if u dont like)
Red Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp ( optional)
Salt - as needed
Sesame Oil - 2 tbs

Method

In a pan add oil, keep flame in high....then add onion, garlic saute well ( let it be crispy), then add tomatoes and saute well, dont mash it.... Then add pepper powder, fennel seeds powder, red chilli powder ( can avoid this or  add idly podi too)... Salt saute for one minute, immediately add idly, now keep flame in sim and little more oil, mix everything well till all powders are coated well in idly... Switch off the flame... Serve hot with any raita....

I dont have curry oeaves and coriander leaves in home today... You can add both which will increase the flavour of idly. You can add capsicum, carrot etc too... can add lime at the end...  But all these will give feel of manchurian, so i avoided all.... Everytime you can try wih different variation ....
